Conference Agenda

Dr. med. Markus Künkel
District 59 Director

Dear Fellow Toastmasters, liebe Winterthurer, dear guests from near and far! It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Toastmasters District 59 Spring Conference. Expectations are high, and I know that the organizers working with Ulrike Laubner have put great effort into making this event an unforgettable experience for all. Our district reaches from the Netherlands south to Cyprus and across France to Portugal. We serve over 6000 active members in over 240 clubs.

Switzerland, a country known for its cheese, chocolate and democracy, will see that Toastmasters are similar to the Swiss: We love to have fun, we espouse cultural diversity, we enjoy wine, food and dancing. And we are also democratic: During the annual business meeting, each club’s representatives will vote for replacements for the current District Executive, by direct vote.

We love to compete, and that in different languages: One highlight of this conference will be the International Speech contest finals, whose winner will represent our district at the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking.

The conference program offers a number of workshop and networking experiences. Not to forget the social events and our traditional gala dinner on Saturday night!

Everybody enjoy the fun!
